Nineteen-year-old Hugo is lost in a world of endless possibilities and within himself. Determined to do something about it, he enrolls in a crash course called #nofilter, designed for young people committed to living “authentically.” In a reality dominated by self-presentation and the need for recognition, Hugo begins to fully explore who he really is. We follow his journey through a mosaic of situations— from buying new glasses, to appearing in a film as an extra, to attending a drag show. Hugo’s search unfolds through subtle details in which the line between sincerity and pretense blurs. Is he truly discovering his true self, or is he, as a social actor, merely trying out different roles?
